Swap calculator
A position held past the daily rollover time is charged or credited a swap, which reflects the interest rate difference between the two currencies plus the broker's markup. Brokers publish swap rates per instrument, usually in pips (or points) per lot per night. One night a week is charged three times to cover the weekend.

How it is calculated
Nights charged = normal nights + 3 × triple nightsSwap = swap rate (pips) × pip value per lot × lots × nights charged
Worked example
Swap rate −0.5 pips per lot on EUR/USD, 1 lot, held for 2 normal nights and 1 triple night (5 nights charged): −0.5 × 10 USD × 1 × 5 = -25.00 USD.
Assumptions and practical examples
This tool expects the swap quote in pips per lot per night. A cash charge, annual percentage or points quote must not be entered as pips without the broker's conversion rules. Check whether the long or short rate applies and preserve its sign.
Use the actual charged rollover nights, including any multiple-day charge your broker applies. The broker's schedule, holidays and rates can differ; this tool does not establish a universal triple-swap weekday.
Questions
Where do I find the swap rate?
In your broker's contract specification or trading platform. Rates differ for buys and sells and change often.
Why is one night charged three times?
Most brokers charge the weekend's financing on one weekday night, often Wednesday for forex, so that night counts three times.
My broker quotes swap in points, not pips. What do I enter?
On a five-decimal price one point is a tenth of a pip, so divide the points by 10. Some brokers quote swap in money or as an annual percentage instead.
Results are estimates for education; your broker's contract specification and prices decide the real values. Trading leveraged products carries a high risk of losing money.
